Mariana's 100

Johnny Keoni Barsano, Brandon Perez, and Dillon Quitugua make history as the first people to attempt a Perimeter run around and finish 100 miles in Guam. Dillon and Brandon have cultural and familial ties to Guam, so this event was made even more special with overwhelming support across the island. With 5,000+ feet of elevation gain, humidity over 80%, torrential rains, and heat exceeding 80 degrees (F), the Mariana’s 100 was a beast of a run.

The Tribe partnered with The Learn Chamoru Project to bring this event to fruition.

Mana 50

The Tribe takes on the highest elevations of the Big Island of Hawaii with the 50 mile Ultra marathon we call the Mana 50. Johnny, Bran and Dill successfully completed this challenging run in 15 hours. With 50 miles, the heat, cold, high altitude and over 6,000 feet of elevation gain, this 50 mile run is great preparation for the ardor that lay ahead with the Mariana’s 100 only a month away.

South to North Fun Run

On August 30, a stranger named Joe Koyle met with Dillon Quitugua and set out to run 50 miles together on the 26th of September. They trained for a solid 28 days, putting in about 200 miles before the actual #South2North Double Marathon (52.4 mile) run. In that month, their physical and mental state of being slowly changed and they began to feel different about life. A lot of anxiety and traumas held within by both runners were finally let go allowing them to run without the feelings weighing them down.

Alongside them, were an amazing group of people which worked as pacers and aid stations to support this goal of theirs. In fact this was the first event that propelled us as a Tribe. The amount of love, support, and effort given by these people are prime examples of what “it takes a village” means.
